Rob Purdie

Rob is our Associate Consultant for helping business to clarify their current position, create a plan for positive change and deliver performance. With over thirty years’ experience in corporate sales and marketing, his previous positions have included Client Service then Marketing Strategy Director at Carlson Marketing, Commercial Development Director at Wegener DM and Managing Director for Campaign Solutions.

Rob is particularly able to show hotel and hospitality businesses owners how to harness the power of effective marketing strategies, marketing communications, business development and customer loyalty.

Speaking of the challenges faced by the hospitality sector, he says:

“Competition has always been brutal in this business and it is becoming more difficult for independent hotels, restaurants and even the high street coffee bar to stand out. Some of these business owners say to me ‘marketing is for the big boys’ or ‘we can’t afford it’, but I am passionate about showing these businesses how, with a decent strategy focused on a great customer experience, their organisations will flourish despite the current challenges”

To Rob, it is all about looking at the strengths of the business and creating a joined-up strategy which is, first and foremost, about creating new sales and repeat business.

Rob has held several UK-based non-executive directorships, including at Northamptonshire Enterprise Partnership, Northamptonshire Chamber, River Nene Regional Park and EMB Group. He has also been involved in the Northamptonshire Library Plus Trust, The Federation of Small Businesses and the ‘Made in Corby’ project, funded by the Arts Council.
